Today, it\u2019s best known as an award-winning ski resort and as the heart of South Sami culture. With a long tradition of hospitality, Hotell Fun\u00e4sdalen stands as one of the true classics of the Swedish mountains, dating back to 1947.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n

K\u00e5van Restaurant & Bar, right next to the chairlift, offers a variety of dishes, lunch and coffee during the winter season. Barbecues are also available outdoors when the weather is good. Visit the musk oxen<\/h3><\/div>

Come face to face with a true Ice Age survivor! Visit the unique musk ox enclosure just outside T\u00e4nn\u00e4s, about 20 kilometers east of Fun\u00e4sdalen. Here, these majestic animals live in their natural mountain environment. Guided tours are available by advance booking only.<\/p>

Elliseum Visual Arts<\/h3><\/div>

The Elliseum is and was the art studio of Gunilla and Bengt Ellis. It also serves as a gallery and museum for their respective works, where Gunilla talks about her husband's painting and her own textile art.

Bengt Ellis mainly painted in watercolor and oil, drawing inspiration from the nature of H\u00e4rjedalen and the people he met during his travels abroad and family journeys. Gunilla weaves ornaments and burial blankets in the Sm\u00e5land weaving tradition and creates clothing in small editions from her own fabrics. She has also designed beautiful wool blankets in jacquard weave, featuring motifs of animals and nature from western H\u00e4rjedalen.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Just 70 kilometers from Fun\u00e4sdalen lies the town of R\u00f8ros, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The entire town center, with its charming wooden houses, is carefully preserved. While history is ever-present, R\u00f8ros is also a vibrant town that continues to evolve, known for its thriving community of artists and skilled craftsmen.<\/p>
