Alpine training on Funäsdalsberget

Funäsdalsberget offers a unique training opportunity for clubs and teams, and every season many of tomorrow's alpine stars train here.

Early season and good conditions

At Funäsdalen, the cold and snow arrive early. We can usually start alpine training as early as November, and in the months that follow, we prepare the snow conditions that have made Funäsdalsberget famous among both coaches and athletes. Our goal is to have the best snow conditions in the Nordic region on our slopes.

The snowmaking capacity, the cold temperature, and the snow availability during a normal winter mean that we are often the first in the country with a full-scale giant slalom slope with good conditions right from the start. This is also why the season's first giant slalom competitions are usually held here.

Training in all disciplines

With a vertical drop of over 330 meters and the area's largest vertical drop, there are excellent opportunities for training and competition in all alpine disciplines: SL, GS, SG, and DH. We also organize training and competitions in freeride, mogul skiing, telemark, and park.

The mountain's terrain and varied character provide opportunities for many different training elements and developing ski skills. There is room for everything from gently sloping courses to slopes with a World Cup level incline. For groups that wish it, there is also the capacity to rope off slopes.

On-site expertise

At Funäsdalsberget, experienced coaches are available for clubs wishing to supplement their own training. We also have experts in snow and grooming who ensure that conditions are always top-notch.

Long training days

High-speed lifts minimize downtime and maximize the number of runs. Full lighting on Röstbergsbacken, the slope leading to the village, and in the park allows us to offer long training days even during the dark hours of the preseason. Thanks to the nature of the slopes, Funäsdalen has also become a hub for speed training for young people.

Pre-season (November 24 - December 17)

During the preseason, we offer training for training groups of all ages and across all disciplines. You can book anything from single days and participants to entire periods and larger groups.

During the period, FIS competitions are also offered on November 28-29, as well as the traditional December Race where the entire mountain is transformed into a speed arena between December 10-15.

Regular season (December 18 – April 18)

During the regular season, we offer everything from daily training to camps and competitions, this applies to both high and low seasons. Some of the highlights are FWO, Top-dal training, and the Swedish Youth Championship (USM).

These are preliminary dates and plans that may be subject to change. Dates for training and competition will be added later.

Good to know

  • We have the right to combine groups to give more people the opportunity for great training.
  • Each training session should end with a hurry-up 15 minutes before the end of the session.
  • In addition to the planned activities above, there is always the possibility to plan additional training sessions, competitions, and camps with us.
